If elected Sheriff, I will implement the following strategic goals:

1.  Redesign patrol zones to correspond with the level of criminal activity in the respective areas.

2.  Create a citizens review board consisting off all groups of people to a limit of six.  This review board shall understand our function as law enforcement officers, make recommendations on issues regarding the quality of services given and to evaluate our progress.  The board will also assist in recognizing and rewarding officers for meritorious behavior.

3.  Increase accountability and efficiency of services through building partnerships, in-depth planning, and measurable performance standards.

4.  Reduce the fear of crime by having a stronger police presence at no extra cost in staffing simply by refining agency personnel.

5.  Make effective use of personnnel, equipment, and technology to meet and exceed community expectations.

6.  Provide a work environment free of fear from any type of discrimination including, but not limited to racial and sexual harassment as well as educate supervisors in effective communication skills.  Effective communication produces greater work productivity.

7.  Provide a work environment which attracts and retains a diverse group of dedicated officers, rewards good work practices, and promotes a career ladder for officers who show accountability and leadership skills.

8.  Create promotional assessments which will allow for fair and equal promotion of qualified candidates.

9.  Work with all of our dedicated emergency personnel to enhance the Federally mandated National Incident Management System (NIMS).  We must realize not if, but when a disaster, man-made or other shall occur, we must be prepared.

10.  Publish monthly Sheriff's reports regarding employee rewards, accomplishments, and concerns which we all need to know about.

11.  Create an Internal Affairs Team to evaluate and monitor any misconduct by any employee of this office.  We will be accountable for our actions.

12.  Utilize drug forfeiture monies which are already in hand at an amount of over one million dollars to purchase much needed items.  The money is just sitting there, so I believe we should utilize the drug dealers' money before asking we, the shareholders, to foot the bill by raising taxes.
